Learning Mentor
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and resilient Learning Mentor to join our Learning Support Department. The successful applicant will be required to work across all subjects and year groups, supporting students in a range of settings and taking responsibility for small group interventions. You will work closely with the Age Phase Leads and the SENCO.
The post is available from September on a permanent basis for 32.25 hours per week, for 39 weeks term-time. Core hours of work are from Monday 8.15am to 3.45pm, Tuesday through Friday 8.45am to 3.45pm. An additional hour per week is flexible to allow support at one extracurricular club, confirmed based on need.
Daily responsibilities will center on supporting students where the need is greatest, resulting in a flexible timetable. This role offers higher autonomy than a Learning Support Assistant, requiring the Learning Mentor to draw on SEND knowledge and key students to plan a dynamic timetable and set priorities.
Essential qualities include flexibility, adaptability, initiative, confidence in communicating with young people, and the ability to stay positive. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
