We are seeking a dynamic and experienced full timeHuman Resources Managerat Haywood & Padgett, a family-run bakery based in Barnsley. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with international labour standards while also fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training & development, and performance management.
* Ensure compliance with local labour laws and international ethical standards, including health & safety, wages, working hours, and freedom of association.
* Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with both company values and external compliance requirements.
* Investigate and resolve employee concerns and conflicts with discretion and fairness.
* Act as the company’s main point of contact for SEDEX-related matters and ensure timely and accurate updates to the SEDEX platform.
* Lead preparation and execution ofSMETA audits, including document control, site preparation, and employee engagement.
* Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and generate HR reports as required.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum3 yearsof HR experience, with experience related toSEDEXandSMETA audits.
* Professional HR Qualification - CIPD Preferred
* Strong knowledge of global labour standards, ethical sourcing requirements, and supply chain transparency.
* Proven experience managing external audits and driving corrective action plans.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
* Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, PHR) is a plus.
