REPORTS TO: Emergency Assistance Provider and Corps Officer
SUPERVISES: Volunteers
STATUS: Non-Exempt/Part-Time
SCHEDULE: Up to 29 hours weekly
FUNCTION: To support the ongoing mission of The Salvation Army by maintaining standards as it pertains to current kitchen safety protocols and food distribution ministries
Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve meals in accordance with food safety standards.
* Maintain cleanliness, sanitization, and order in kitchen and serving area.
* Plan and adhere to a monthly menu.
* Coordinate with Emergency Assistance Provider and Corps Officer to order and obtain food and supplies.
* Stock and maintain food and dry storage as necessary.
* Accurately report food statistics.
* Secure kitchen and storage areas when not in use.
* Responsible for ordering items from the foodbank, with approval from the Corps Officer, and picking up those items when necessary.
* Ensure supplies are ordered through the proper procedure.
* Participate in trainings as needed.
* Comply with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to food service.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED
* Valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army motor vehicle test
* Related experience preferred but not necessary
* Able to follow directions
* Able to read recipes and food safety standards
* ServSafe Food Handler certification (Food Manager certification preferred)
* Punctual
* Ability to work independently and accept direction on assigned tasks
* Able to multi-task
* Professional appearance
* Ability to work collaboratively with the administrative team
