Rate of Pay: £12.40 per hour

Abbeyfield & Wesley are pleased to advertise for a Support Worker to join our enthusiastic and innovative team. The successful candidate will contribute to the successful running of the House, delivering the excellent service Abbeyfield & Wesley are known for.
Working with the House Manager, the Support Worker will assist in planning and preparing meals for Residents, ensure health and safety standards are met, participate in fire drills, and promote excellent service for all Residents.

Main Duties
1. Plan and prepare nutritious meals, considering any dietary requirements in collaboration with the House Manager.
2. Develop healthy weekly menus.
3. Monitor and maintain stock levels.
4. Prepare purchase information aligned with weekly menus.
5. Maintain high standards of Food Safety.
6. Follow Health and Safety protocols within the House.
7. Represent Abbeyfield & Wesley when interacting with visitors, answering calls, or engaging with prospective Residents.
8. Foster a supportive, homely, and secure environment for Residents.
9. Remain calm and contact appropriate emergency services or family in case of emergencies.
Training will be provided as necessary.
Reporting Structure
You will report directly to the House Manager or the Area Manager in their absence.
Essential Criteria
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to plan and prepare meals for 7-10 people.
* A commitment to dignity, respect, and quality of life for elderly people.
* Proven ability to work independently.
* Ability to keep records and monitor stock and purchases.
Desirable Criteria
* Food Safety qualification.
* First Aid certification.
* Willingness to pursue further qualifications to enhance skills and service standards.
