Support student experience projects, develop new skills, and help shape change at UWE alongside your studies.
Duties
Student Project Developers (SPDs) work collaboratively with staff to deliver enhancement projects that improve the student experience. Project topics may be anything related to student experience and have previously covered learning and teaching,inclusion, wellbeing, digital learning, sustainability, or the campus environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Gathering student feedback (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups)
* Analysing findings and shaping project direction
* Developing practical resources or recommendations
* Working closely with a staff Project Lead
* Presenting work at a mid-year showcase
* Attending induction, training, and regular check-ins
Each SPD is matched to a project and supported throughout by both their Project Lead and the Student Voice and Academic Policy team.
Skills and Experience
You don’t need to be an expert — we’re looking for students who are motivated, collaborative, and willing to learn. Training is provided, and the role is designed to support your development. You’ll need to show:
* A clear interest in the role and its purpose
* The ability to manage your time and stay organised
* Good communication skills, including knowing when to ask questions or share updates
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to shared tasks
* The ability to use information and feedback to shape decisions
* Responsibility and commitment to seeing tasks through
* Openness to learning from feedback

Hours
Flexible – approximately 3-5 hours a week.
120 hours total from October to June.
Hourly Rate
£12.60 per hour

Hybrid – Remote and Campus Based
Additional Information
This is a paid role open to all current UWE Bristol students. The role is flexible and designed to work alongside your studies. Some in-person attendance may be required depending on your assigned project.
* Applicants must be current UWE Bristol students in academic year 2025/26
* You must be based in the UK and eligible to work in the UK
* Student visa holders must ensure total hours do not exceed individual visa limits
