Your responsibilities
will include:
1. Preparing and cooking meals to a consistently high standard
2. Catering for special nutritional, dietary and ethnic needs
3. Food ordering and maintaining required food stock levels
4. Keeping the stockholding area hygienic, clear of obstructions, presentable and tidy at all times
5. Compling with the Health and Safety and Welfare Act 1974 and relevant legislation, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the department
6. Keeping up-to-date with departmental COSHH manual and PPE requirement for each food preparation and cleaning task
7. Taking charge of the department and use established procedures to efficiently run and monitor the kitchen
8. Reducing food waste to gain greater value for money
9. Responding to routine enquiries from colleagues and service users
10. Carrying out and complete monthly and annual catering audits
To be a Successful Cook you will need:
11. Basic Food Hygiene
12. GCSE or equivalent in English
13. NVQ 2 or equivalent or Qualified by Experience in Catering
14. Comprehensive level of numeracy
15. Experience and knowledge menu planning and costing
16. To be able to work efficiently under pressure
17. A Creative flair and a passion for cooking
18. Good communication and organisational skills
