Group Head of People - The Snow Centre - Hemel Hempstead or Manchester Our indoor ski facilities in Hemel Hempstead and Manchester are the UK’s leading indoor Snowsports destinations. Together, we bring the mountains to the city — offering world-class skiing and snowboarding facilities, welcoming beginners taking their first lessons through to experienced riders perfecting their skills. The Group Head of People role is a high-impact, group-level role where you’ll have the freedom to shape the future of our people strategy and how we attract, develop and engage our teams which are 600 strong during peak season. You’ll work very closely with The Managing Director and senior leadership to ensure our teams are supported, engaged and inspired to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Key responsibilities include: Champion and live and breathe our values of Growing Together, Here for Everyone, Trust in Each Other and Seriously Fun. Lead and develop our People Team (HR Manager, L&D Co-Ordinator and HR administrator) to deliver excellent HR and L & D services. Design and continue to develop our learning culture with career pathways, apprenticeships, and training calendars that help colleagues progress. Ensure performance review cycles are consistently delivered with development focused conversations. Manage the partnership with our outsourced ER solutions provider, owning senior level cases. Oversee senior-level recruitment and ensure smooth, engaging onboarding experiences. Partner with the Operations Teams to ensure recruitment and people processes are consistent and effective. Champion success, engagement and culture initiatives that make us a truly great place to work. Shape internal communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and connection across the group. Contribute strategically at senior leadership level, using people data and insights to drive business performance. Use data and KPIs to inform decision making and measure impact. We are keen to hear from candidates who have: Strong and significant HR leadership experience as a Senior HRBP, Head of L & D or equivalent HR role A track record of delivering engagement and culture programmes that make a measurable difference. CIPD Level 5 (or above) qualification and up-to-date knowledge of employment law. Experience designing and embedding career pathways and training programmes. Excellent leadership, coaching, and influencing skills. Passion for building inclusive, energising, and high-performing teams. Experience within leisure or hospitality is desirable but not essential. In addition to a basic salary of up to 65K, there is a 10% annual bonus potential, holiday entitlement is 5 weeks plus bank holidays, there is a matched pension scheme of 5% and discounts of company products and experiences. You will need to be based within 45 minutes of either our Hemel Hempstead or Manchester venues, although hybrid working may be considered for 1-2 days per week.
