We're currently recruiting multiple site managers in Newton Abbot, South Devon, working on expanding HMP Channings Wood. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with a project of varying scope, delivering state-of-the-art construction including two new fully electric, energy-efficient X-shaped T60 houseblocks.
Location: Newton Abbot, South Devon, South West
Contract: Permanent, full-time
What will you be responsible for?
This role as site manager on HMP Channings Wood offers a chance to expand your skills while working alongside a team of construction experts. You'll be part of a major Government construction contract that provides a critical asset to the local area. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Managing and directing sub-contractor partners, ensuring work packages are delivered safely.
* Checking work carried out by sub-contractors and assessing compliance with programme, design drawings, and quality standards.
* Reviewing risk assessments and method statements from sub-contractors to ensure safe and appropriate working methods.
* Carrying out toolbox talks and site inductions to ensure full compliance with Kier standards.
* Coordinating site logistics, including movement of plant and labour, ensuring safety is maintained.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you have:
* A relevant construction qualification (HND/Degree/SVQ) or technical trade or equivalent.
* SMSTS 5 Day Certification.
* CSCS Card.
* First aid training.
