An opportunity has arisen in our kitchen team and we are looking for an experienced chef to join us as our Deputy Catering Manager at Bettys Cafe Tearooms in Harlow Carr. As a Deputy Catering Manager you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Catering assistants/Chefs and Catering Team Leaders to prepare a full menu of delicious food and drinks as part of a deliciously magical experience for every customer. You will report to the Catering Manager and deputise for them in their absence. This is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours over 5 days. The start and finish times can vary depending on opening hours of the branch, this may include some early mornings or later finishes with a normal shift length of 8.5 hours per day (no split shifts.) You will be required to work at least one day at the weekend every week. If you would like to discuss working patterns please provide more details in your application. About you You’ll have a background of working in a busy kitchen producing the best quality dishes. You’ll have experience in managing and motivating a small team. Experience of food safety and health and safety procedures is essential. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. Ideally you will have previous experience of working to KPI’s such as food costs and labour budgets.
