An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified decontamination professional and experienced people manager to support the Decontamination Program Manager in leading the Sterile Services team. Excellent leadership skills are essential along with the ability to manage capacity and demand across two busy departments, HSDU and Endoscopy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring the Sterilisation Department, including HSDU and Endoscopy, is up to date with current legislation and standards. They will liaise with the HSDU Deputy Manager and Supervisors to ensure staff are fully trained in all aspects of decontamination, including the department's competency-based training programme, decontamination processes, and standard operating procedures.

* Provide data and records for monitoring and compliance of the Quality Management System.
* Work flexibly to meet the service needs.
* Monitor the quality of sterilization services through daily quality checks.
* Manage customer complaints and initiate corrective actions.
* Keep the Quality Management System up to date to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Identify opportunities for quality improvements in services.
* Interpret changes in regulations, standards, and guidance, assessing their impact on the Quality Management System.
* Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are current, accessible, and reflect current practices.
* Contribute to the development of the decontamination services' Quality Policy, Technical Files, and Quality Manuals.
* Maintain data integrity and security within the Quality Management Systems.
* Ensure the suppliers list is current.
* Provide complex technical and sensitive advice to service users, both clinical and non-clinical.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Postgraduate degree in Decontamination or equivalent experience/knowledge through applied courses.
Experience
* Significant management experience in Sterile Services and Endoscope Decontamination.
Skills
* Understanding and implementation of HTM/EN/HBN standards.
