Job Role: Site Manager
Location: Scotland – Central Belt
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £54,000 + Company Vehicle
Role Overview:
We are recruiting an experienced Site Manager to oversee civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. This is a permanent opportunity with a reputable national contractor known for delivering major projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The role requires a strong leader with excellent Health & Safety awareness, the ability to manage site teams, and proven experience delivering works to programme. You will act as a key point of contact on site, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders, road users, and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day operations across live sites
• Ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
• Lead site teams, including supervisors, operatives, and subcontractors
• Review and maintain Health & Safety documentation
• Prepare, review, and enforce method statements and risk assessments
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor activities
• Monitor progress and report regularly to senior management
• Identify engineering discrepancies and support technical problem solving
• Maintain accurate site documentation and records
• Ensure all plant and machinery meet compliance standards
• Support training and development of operatives and new starters
• Engage professionally with residents, road users, and stakeholders
• Assist in closing out project documentation and H&S files
Skills & Experience Required:
• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civils, highways, or infrastructure
• CSCS Gold or equivalent
• SSSTS or SMSTS – essential
• NRSWA – preferred
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance
• Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
• Good understanding of contract documents and engineering principles
• Full clean driving licence
