About the role
This specialist provider works with pupils who have not thrived in mainstream settings. Through smaller classes, one-to-one support, and a strong focus on learning outside the classroom, we help young people re-engage with educationand succeed.
What does a learning mentor do?
As a Learning Mentor, youll work directly with pupils to:
Re-engage them in learning
Build their confidence and life skills
Support both academic and personal development
Lead activities ranging from outdoor learning and sport to science and creative projects
This hands-on, varied role is incredibly rewarding. Youll collaborate with experienced teachers and support staff to tailor learning approaches to each pupils needs.
Contract Type: Term-Time Only
Pay: £93 per day (paid via Thrive Recruitment)
Hours: 08:30 AM 15:30 PM
Location: Plymouth
Employment Type: Agency placement through Thrive Recruitment.
Potential for Permanent Role: Successful candidates may be considered for a direct contract with the school.
Candidate Requirements Driving Licence & Business Insurance Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and business insurance, and be comfortable transporting students as part of the role.
Enhanced DBS Willingness to apply for (or already hold) an Enhanced DBS check for working with children.
Background Experience in education or support work is preferred. However, we welcome applications from individuals with a wide range of professional backgrounds who have a positive mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people's lives.
