Job Title: Sustainable Travel Manager
Surface Access is crucial for Heathrow’s growth and meeting its sustainability goals, particularly in carbon reduction, air quality, colleague travel, and increasing public transport use.
The Sustainable Travel Manager supports the Surface Access team by developing strategies and initiatives to achieve public transport targets set in Heathrow 2.0. The role involves engaging stakeholders and Team Heathrow to meet surface access goals, analyzing data to identify effective interventions for promoting sustainable travel, and supporting the Route Development Lead in improving bus and coach services to Heathrow. Additionally, the role enhances the active travel network, car share schemes, and cycle hub, contributing to long-term strategy development.
1. Develop the Colleague Surface Access Strategy by synthesizing data and analytical models, providing technical support for strategy development.
2. Deliver the Colleague Surface Access Strategy, project managing and coordinating initiatives within the travel strategy, and managing schemes and suppliers.
3. Manage stakeholder engagement and Team Heathrow involvement to achieve surface access targets, including engagement with bus and coach operators to improve services to Heathrow.
4. Communicate and promote sustainable travel initiatives to increase awareness through various platforms, including leading the Way2Go roadshow programme.
5. Educated to degree level or equivalent; postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
6. Develop work programmes and implement behavioural change initiatives.
7. Deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget, demonstrating strong project management skills.
8. Manage third-party suppliers and consultants to support delivery activities and ensure value for money.
9. Manage stakeholders and work proactively in a demanding environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Ideally, you will have:
* Experience in transport planning, particularly within a regulated business environment.
* Experience in travel management and major behaviour change programmes.
