Site Manager – Yearsley Grove Primary School
Yearsley Grove Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to join our staff team as a Site Manager to work 7:15am until 12:15pm Monday to Friday, starting on 1st July 2026.
Main Purpose Of The Job
To make sure that the buildings and grounds are in proper working order, maintaining a safe working environment for all users of the facility.
Core Responsibilities, Tasks & Duties
* Act as keyholder and first point of contact for access to school premises, including some out of hours.
* Carry out minor repairs such as securing broken windows, changing light bulbs, lighting tubes and unblocking sinks and drains and report any faults requiring specialist help (e.g., electrical contractor).
* Check lighting, heating, hot water, toilets and drainage are working adequately at the appropriate times.
* Ensure the premises are clean, rubbish is collected and taken away, and any graffiti is removed. Includes cleaning up when children are ill or have accidents.
* Maintain the grounds and remove litter. Includes salting and gritting and clearance of snow in adverse weather conditions.
* Order supplies upon approval by the School Business Manager.
* Secure buildings and grounds, monitoring surveillance equipment and intruder alarms; accept deliveries and check goods receipts. May supervise contractors on site.
* Carry out security checks of buildings and grounds; unlock and secure buildings, and manage room hire for non‑school activities outside normal hours.
* Ensure safe storage of equipment and supplies and maintain appropriate records.
* Adhere to all fire safety and health and safety regulations, testing fire equipment and following evacuation rules.
* Plan maintenance of plant and equipment, e.g., portable appliance testing, boilers.
* Arrange furniture, prepare rooms for meetings and activities, and clear away afterwards.
Working Pattern & Leave
This post will be a 52‑week working pattern, with most leave taken during school holidays.

This post is subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Disqualification Declaration; any information supplied will be discussed at interview.
