Are you an experienced, proactive, and meticulous site professional ready to take a leadership role in managing an outstanding school environment?

Ashton Park School is looking for a Site Manager to become the key figure in ensuring our beautiful, large campus is safe, secure, compliant, and impeccably maintained. Set within the stunning Ashton Court Estate in Bristol, we offer an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a school recently graded 'Good' in all areas' by Ofsted.

This is more than a caretaker role; you will be the lead advisor on premises safety and development, driving our commitment to excellence and sustainability.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the operational management of our site and premises staff, playing a crucial part in maintaining a positive, disruption-free learning environment for our 1,200+ students.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Operational Site Management: Overseeing all aspects of our buildings and facilities, including site development, contracts, asset management, and ambitious sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction.

Team Leadership: Providing clear direction, support, and performance management for the site premises team.

Compliance and Safety Leadership: Ensuring health and safety compliance with regulations like CDM and COSHH. You will plan, monitor, and maintain all statutory compliance checks and records.

Maintenance Programme Management: Developing and implementing a robust, proactive, and reactive maintenance and janitorial programme.

Security: Acting as a main key holder and leading on the security of the premises, including locking/unlocking, alarm systems, and responding to out-of-hours calls.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated professional who is passionate about their work and committed to our students' personal development.

Ideally, you will have:

1. Proven, current knowledge of Health and Safety issues, including COSHH and relevant legislation.
2. Mathematics and English at GCSE grade A to C (4+) or equivalent.
3. Demonstrable buildings and maintenance skills.
4. A reliable, flexible, meticulous nature with the ability to lead a team and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
5. A Clean Driving Licence is desirable.
6. Experience of managing a team and/or a background in the building trade with supervisory responsibilities is highly desirable.

What We Offer You

7. Joining Ashton Park School and the wider Excalibur Academies Trust means benefiting from a professional learning community with outstanding opportunities for progression.
8. We offer an excellent benefits package, including:
9. Salary: NJC24-26 (Permanent, All Year Round).
10. Hours: Part-time, 29.5 hours per week (Tuesday to Friday).
11. Local Government Pension Scheme.
12. Employee Assistance Programme and Family Friendly Policies.
13. Outstanding Facilities and Perks: Free onsite parking, discounted membership to the Ashton Park Fitness Centre, Cycle to Work scheme, access to staff sports and free eye tests.
14. A committed and supportive staff body where staff workload and wellbeing are prioritised.
