About the Role
Balfour Beatty is delivering major infrastructure works as part of the UK’s flagship high-speed rail project, HS2. We are seeking an experienced and driven senior site manager to lead the delivery of a key Headhouse project in Warwick. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role on one of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes in Europe, working within a collaborative and high-performing project team.
As senior site manager, you will take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of construction activities on site. You will lead site teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure works are completed to programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day site operations.
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.
- Monitor progress against programme and implement recovery plans where required.
- Ensure works are delivered to the highest quality standards.
- Manage site logistics, resources and interfaces with other project stakeholders.
- Produce and review short-term programmes, method statements and risk assessments.
- Support commercial and project teams in managing change, risk and opportunities.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders and the wider project team.
Qualifications
- Significant experience as a site manager or senior site manager on large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering and reinforced concrete structures.
- Excellent leadership and people‑management skills.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of construction planning and programme management.
- SMSTS certification.
- CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
