About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and reliable School Site Manager to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring our school buildings, grounds, and facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant, creating a secure and positive environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance (basic carpentry, plumbing, painting).
* Conduct routine inspections and respond promptly to maintenance issues.
* Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety and water hygiene checks.
* Maintain external areas such as playgrounds, paths, and car parks.
* Assist with site security, opening/closing procedures, and emergency responses.
* Log completed works and assist with audits and inspections.
* Provide support for school activities and liaise courteously with staff, pupils, and visitors.
What We're Looking For
* Practical experience in building maintenance, caretaking, or facilities work.
* Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to carry out minor repairs safely and competently.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
* Flexible, trustworthy, and child-focused approach.
Desirable
* Experience in a school or education setting.
* Basic trade qualifications or NVQs.
* Familiarity with fire safety and water hygiene procedures.
Requirements
* Full UK driving licence (if multi-site).
* Willingness to undergo DBS checks.
* Basic IT skills for logging jobs and emails.
