We have an opportunity for a Cook position at our care home. The main purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and provision of meals, and to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
2. Participate in the preparation and serving of all meals.
3. Assist with general kitchen duties as required.
4. Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen at all times.
5. Support the Catering Manager in operating the kitchen effectively and efficiently within a budget.
All posts are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.
About You
The ideal candidate will prepare and cook food according to food hygiene regulations, providing high-quality catering for residents. You should have a passion for food and be able to deliver excellent catering services. Good communication skills, flexibility, task prioritization, and excellent time management are essential.
A minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) are required. An S/NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality is desirable.
