We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our fantastic team at Pioneer House High School.
Position Details
Grade 6 permanent, 35 hours per week, all year round. Starting salary £33,143 per annum. Commencing as soon as pre‑employment checks are complete.
Main Purpose of the Role
You will support the Headteacher and Trust Head of Estates by ensuring the school site, buildings and facilities are maintained and operated in line with the Trust’s estate strategy, and take a lead role in ensuring high standards of health and safety, compliance, maintenance, security and site management across the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day‑to‑day management of the school site, including maintenance, cleaning, security and grounds
* Manage and supervise site staff and external contractors, ensuring high standards of work
* Act as a key holder, overseeing security systems including alarms and CCTV
* Ensure all planned, preventative and statutory maintenance is completed and recorded
* Carry out and oversee health and safety checks, including fire systems, emergency lighting and compliance monitoring
* Manage estates systems, records and compliance documentation
* Support budget planning and monitoring, ensuring value for money
* Oversee site lettings, contractor performance and service delivery
* Ensure the site remains safe and accessible, including during adverse weather conditions
* Support the delivery of capital works, repairs and improvement projects
Qualifications and Experience
* Significant experience in a senior caretaking or site supervisory role
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH
* Experience working within a school or similar environment preferred
* Confident in managing contractors and supervising staff
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise maintenance programmes
* Full UK driving licence
* Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, First Aid, Fire Safety) or willingness to obtain them
* Experience of budget management, preparing costed maintenance plans and contract management advantageous
