Learning Mentor - Further Education College
Location: Stockport, Manchester

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Agency Placement)
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established further education college in Greater Manchester for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to join their team from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and adults with a range of additional learning needs to achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students across a variety of courses. You will assist learners with diverse needs, which may include:
* Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Moderate learning difficulties
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
* Assisting with lesson delivery and adapting materials where required
* Promoting student engagement, independence, and confidence
* Supporting with behaviour management in a positive and proactive manner
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs (education or care setting)
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
* Relevant qualifications ( Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable but not essential
