Learning Mentor - Lydney

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can help young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential? Vision for Education are recruiting for a Learning Mentor to work within a specialist school setting in the Lydney area.
This Learning Mentor role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people, building positive relationships, and helping pupils develop confidence both in and out of the classroom.
About the Learning Mentor Role
As a Learning Mentor, you will support pupils who may have additional learning needs, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), autism, ADHD, or difficulties engaging with education.
As a Learning Mentor, you may:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support
2. Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
3. Support emotional regulation and wellbeing
4. Build trusting relationships with pupils to help them engage in school life
5. Work alongside teachers and support staff to meet individual needs
6. Encourage attendance, participation, and independence

Training and Development
No previous school experience is required for this Learning Mentor role.

Following a successful interview and compliance checks, we will work to secure paid placements to help you develop your skills as a Learning Mentor.

21. Be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check
Experience in education, care, youth work, coaching, mentoring, support work, or similar environments is beneficial but not essential.
