H9 Talent Solutions are hiring for an experienced Senior Project Developer to lead the origination, development and delivery of renewable energy projects from concept through to construction ready status.
The ideal candidate will bring deep sector knowledge, strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills and a proven track record in progressing renewable energy developments in the UK market.
You will play a key role in shaping our growing portfolio, identifying new opportunities and guiding multi-disciplinary teams to bring high-quality projects to life.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end development of renewable energy projects (solar PV, onshore wind, and/or battery storage) from site identification through planning, grid connection and financial close.
* Identify and secure new project opportunities, including land acquisition, grid capacity and permitting pathways.
* Manage relationships with landowners, local authorities, planning consultants, environmental advisors and other key stakeholders.
* Oversee feasibility studies and due diligence for prospective sites, coordinating internal and external technical assessments.
* Prepare and submit planning applications, engaging with local communities and planning bodies to secure consents.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, legal and commercial teams to ensure project viability and compliance.
* Negotiate project agreements, including land leases, grid connection terms and commercial contracts.
* Support investment and financing activities, including data room preparation, due diligence responses and project presentations.
* Monitor regulatory and policy developments in the UK energy market and incorporate insights into project strategy.
* Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development (solar, wind, storage, or hybrid projects).
* Proven track record of delivering projects from origination to ready-to-build stage in the UK.
* Strong understanding of UK planning, permitting, and grid connection processes.
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally for site visits and meetings.
Preferred experience:
* Experience with battery storage and hybrid projects.
* Familiarity with land acquisition processes and legal documentation.
* Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related discipline.
* Knowledge of GIS tools or project evaluation software (e.g. PVsyst, WindPro) is an advantage.
