Group Sales Manager

Embassy Suites by Hilton Birmingham – driving group business, elevating guest experience, and contributing to the success of a recognized hospitality brand.

Key Responsibilities

* Proactively identify and develop new group business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and participation in trade and community events.
* Manage existing group accounts, maintain relationships, ensure renewals, and secure future business opportunities.
* Respond promptly to inquiries and RFPs, preparing tailored proposals, presentations, and contracts aligned with brand and property standards.
* Negotiate group room blocks, function space, food & beverage minimums, meeting room rental, and other hotel services within established guidelines.
* Conduct site inspections, client presentations, and hotel tours to showcase meeting facilities and amenities.
* Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Operations, Catering, and Front Office teams to optimize group blocks, space utilization, and revenue mix.
* Maintain accurate CRM records of sales activities, leads, and client communications.
* Develop and execute sales strategies and segment‑specific action plans aligned with hotel goals and budgets.
* Participate in weekly and monthly revenue meetings, providing input on forecasts and performance updates.
* Represent the hotel at community, industry, and trade association events to enhance visibility and generate leads.
* Partner with marketing to develop collateral, digital campaigns, and targeted outreach efforts supporting group business growth.
* Prepare regular reports detailing sales activity, performance metrics, and market trends.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.


Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
* Minimum 1–3+ years in hotel group sales with proven success in securing business and meeting revenue goals.
* Demonstrated ability to close business, negotiate effectively, and manage client relationships.
* Proficiency with hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, OnQ) preferred; Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
* Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
* Strong negotiation, persuasion, and account‑management abilities.
* Highly organized, detail‑oriented, with ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Results‑driven, proactive, self‑motivated approach.
* Collaborative team player supporting a positive work environment.
* Flexibility to work outside standard hours for client meetings, site visits, and events as needed.


Performance Expectations

* Achieve or exceed group room and F&B revenue targets.
* Grow new group accounts and increase repeat business.
* Optimize meeting space utilization and group ADR.
* Maintain accurate CRM data, track conversion ratios, and deliver timely reporting.
* Uphold Hilton brand standards and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.


Working Conditions

Full‑time, on‑site position based at Embassy Suites by Hilton Birmingham. Occasional local or regional travel required for client meetings, site visits, and trade shows. Must be able to walk the property and lead client tours; some evenings or weekends may be required.
