We are seeking a
proactive and commercially focused HR Manager
to join the management team of one of our clients. This is a full generalist role within a dynamic manufacturing environment, providing the opportunity to shape HR strategy and serve as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
In this role, you will oversee all HR activities at the site - from driving employee engagement and leading recruitment, to managing employee relations and ensuring compliance. You will also mentor and develop an HR Administrator, collaborating closely with Group HR to deliver consistent, high-quality HR support across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
* Lead on recruitment, onboarding, and retention to ensure the business attracts and retains top talent.
* Advise and support managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
* Oversee learning and development initiatives, ensuring training needs are identified and delivered.
* Manage employee engagement programmes and drive a positive workplace culture.
* Ensure compliance with employment law and maintain up-to-date HR policies and procedures.
* Lead on compensation, benefits, and payroll in collaboration with finance.
* Produce HR reports and metrics to support decision-making.
* Support change management initiatives and organisational development projects.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on people-related matters.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager within a manufacturing environment.
* In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Hands-on experience supporting
SEDEX and BRC audits
.
* Broad generalist HR expertise including employee relations, recruitment, and HR systems.
* Working knowledge of payroll processes (SAGE or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of
GDPR compliance
within an HR context.
* Advanced expertise in absence management, including complex case handling.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Proficiency in IT systems, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and HR platforms.
