With 96 private bedrooms thoughtfully arranged into cozy households of just 16 residents each, our home-style model fosters warmth, comfort and meaningful relationships. As a Facility Cook, your duties will include: Preparing and cooking nutritious meals in line with menus and dietary requirements Ensuring meals are delivered to the right residents at the right time and temperature Supporting the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness Contributing to special events, celebrations and continuous improvement initiatives Supporting the Chef Manager and stepping up when required About You: Hold a Hospitality/Catering Certificate with a minimum Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery (non-trade) or an armed forces cook qualification Be experienced in leading and coordinating kitchen staff Have the ability to cook nutritionally compliant and tasty foods and be able to interpret and cook all items on the BaptistCare menus Have the ability to present food in an attractive and appetising manner as demonstrated by the Chef Manager Have sound knowledge of economic food management, ordering and stocktaking Hold experience in commercial cooking for large numbers Demonstrate the ability to work effectively unsupervised Have effective communication skills (oral and written) Have a desire to work with the elderly within our shared values You rally your team, even on challenging days, to problem solve, connect and overcome If you enjoy creating great food, working as part of a caring team and making every meal count, we’d love to hear from you.
