As a Web Experience Designer & Payload Developer, you will play a key role in shaping and building the next generation of our content-driven web experiences. You will be responsible for designing reusable templates, implementing them within Payload CMS, and creating modular components and widgets that allow our teams to scale content production efficiently. This hybrid role combines design sensibility with hands-on front-end development and CMS integration, ensuring our digital properties are both visually engaging and technically robust.
Responsibilities
1. Design and deliver reusable page templates product landing pages) that are brand-consistent and scalable.
2. Create designs in Figma for review.
3. Build and configure these templates in Payload CMS, ensuring editors can easily manage and repurpose them.
4. Develop and implement reusable widgets/components author profile cards, live pricing blocks, rich content sections).
5. Collaborate with Organic Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure templates and widgets align with performance, UX, and SEO/AIO requirements.
6. Ensure responsive design and accessibility standards are applied consistently across all components.
7. Integrate external data sources APIs for pricing, content feeds) into CMS-driven components.
8. Provide technical documentation and training for internal teams on how to best use and scale the systems you build.
9. Stay current with design and front-end development best practices, as well as advancements in CMS frameworks, to bring innovation to our web experience.
Requirements
10. 4+ years of experience in web design and front-end development, ideally within global or content-heavy environments.
11. Demonstrated experience with Payload CMS (or equivalent headless CMS platforms such as Strapi, Sanity, Contentful) including content modelling and custom component build-outs.
12. Strong design skills with a portfolio showcasing UI/UX and component-based systems.
13. Proficiency in modern front-end technologies (React/, TypeScript, CSS frameworks).
14. Ability to design and code reusable widgets and components that integrate seamlessly with CMS workflows.
15. Familiarity with accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimisation.
16. Experience working with APIs and dynamic data integrations.
17. Fluent in English with strong communication and collaboration skills; able to partner with cross-functional teams.
18. Self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and able to deliver at pace in a fast-moving environment.
