Data Architect - UK (remote) - up to £130,000
As a Data Architect, you will have responsibility for shaping and guiding the technical composition, construction, orchestration, and management of the Data Platform. This encompasses ensuring proactive and measured management of various essential aspects such as performability, scalability, sustainability, maintainability, and security. Direct collaboration with the lead Data Platform Architect, as well as architects from other teams including the Analytics Architect, and those responsible for front end and backend services relying on the Data Platform, is a key aspect of this role.
The data platform serves as the central hub of operations, driving the organisation's SaaS platform, supporting internal analytics, and powering operational systems. Its architectural foundation holds paramount importance, presenting an excellent opportunity for challenging work for an enterprising Data Architect. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the technical architecture of the Data Platform and align it with business and technological goals.
* Collaborate closely with the lead architect of the Data Platform, other architects, and Product Management to ensure cohesive and holistic architectural approaches.
* Drive the adoption of best practices in architectural design, DataOps, and decision-making processes.
* Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
* Contribute to the overall design of the data platform architecture with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. Introduce innovative practices and technologies within the data platform stack.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance data engineering capabilities and improve efficiency.
Required Skills:
* Extensive experience in data engineering, with a proven track record and architect role.
* Extensive knowledge of software and data engineering architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
* Experience with cloud technologies, data warehouses, and modern data tools and technologies, with a focus on AWS, Snowflake, and dbt.
* Strong understanding of DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
