Site Manager (Civil Engineering) £290 - £320 per day The Client A leading medium-sized civil engineering contractor is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager for a key project in Cheshire. This role focuses on the end-to-end management of general civil engineering, Roads and Drainage packages. Key Responsibilities Manage daily site activities for roads and drainage, ensuring all works meet drawings, specifications, and the master programme. Develop short-term lookaheads and proactively coordinate plant and material requirements to prevent delays. Lead site inductions, review subcontractor RAMS, and maintain the Construction Phase Plan to the highest H&S standards. Conduct inspections, manage RFIs, and identify potential buildability issues early to protect the projects budget and timeline. Partner with the QS to monitor resource costs, manage plant hire efficiency, and document contract variations. Act as the primary on-site liaison for the client, consultants, and local authorities. The Requirements Proven Experience: A strong background in Civil Engineering, specifically managing roads, drainage, and S278 works. Leadership: Ability to manage specialist subcontractors and internal teams with a focus on productivity. Qualifications: Relevant SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications. Digital Proficiency: Confident using MS Office and SharePoint for project documentation and reporting.
