This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs, helping them to reach their full potential both academically and emotionally. About the Role: As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with students who may face barriers to learning, including those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). You will provide targeted support to help improve behaviour, engagement, attendance, and overall achievement. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for pupils, particularly those with SEND or behavioural needs. Support students' social, emotional, and academic development. Develop and implement personalised strategies to help pupils overcome barriers to learning. Liaise with teachers, SENCO, pastoral staff, and external agencies. Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records. Requirements: Previous experience working in a secondary school setting is essential. Strong background in working with SEND students, including SEMH, ASD, or ADHD. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A calm, patient, and positive approach to managing behaviour. A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one). Desirable: Mentoring or youth work qualifications. Experience delivering interventions or support programmes.
