Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 2:30pm)
Term Time Only: 39 working weeks + 4.689 holiday weeks (Total paid weeks: 43.689)
Salary: £12.80 per hour (£12,582.44 annually)
Are you passionate about preparing nutritious meals and creating a welcoming dining experience? We’re looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team at a school in Shifnal, Shropshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy consistent hours, term-time working, and a supportive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Preparing and serving hot and cold meals alongside the on-site Chef Manager
* Planning and cooking meals in line with school menus and dietary guidelines
* Taking full ownership of the kitchen, including daily prep, cooking, cleaning, and compliance
* Managing stock levels and receiving deliveries
* Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety
* Liaising with school staff to support smooth service and special events
* Providing a friendly and positive service experience for pupils and staff
What We’re Looking For:
* A relevant cookery or catering qualification
* Experience in a similar role, ideally within a school or care setting
* Strong knowledge of food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety
* A caring, reliable, and proactive approach
* Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check and any required vetting
