The role
As a key member of one of our Scrum teams you will define, build, and deploy new products and features that meet the needs of our expanding customer base. We are located in Altrincham, in a workspace that promotes collaboration and facilitates hybrid working with great tech, AV equipment, and flexible spaces.
First and foremost, you will be a strong and experienced Java developer, but we are not just looking for great coders. We are looking for problem solvers who are keen to share their ideas, challenge our approach and continuously improve the way we work. As a proactive and inquisitive developer, you will be passionate about collaborating with and contributing to the professional growth of your team. You will also be comfortable working with other specialists such as UX Designers, product experts, Test Analysts and, of course, our customers.
You will be working on a modern JDK (we currently use Amazon Corretto 17) and with a variety of approaches such as pair programming, automated testing, and continuous integration - all backed by DevOps technologies such as Chef, Vagrant, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and Docker. Our culture encourages continuous improvement, so we will be looking to you to investigate new tech, frameworks, and processes, to help drive us forward.
Must haves
Experience in any of the following areas is essential and would make you an even stronger candidate for some of our teams:
* Designing, developing, and operating serverless applications on AWS
* Building and supporting scalable systems with services such as AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
* Front-end development using React and TypeScript
* Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt
* Monitoring, maintaining, and optimising serverless solutions to ensure performance and reliability
