Construction Quality Manager, Special Projects — Newlon Housing Trust
Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the quality control of remediation works by visiting project sites regularly, carrying out inspections, identifying non-compliance and building defects/snagging, and keeping detailed records to ensure work is carried out to the highest possible quality levels.
* Scrutinise drawings and specifications of projects prior to, during and after site commencement; make regular reports on the performance of Constructors and sub-contractors and address issues with Newlon’s Project Managers, Employers Agents, Contractors and other Stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with Newlon’s and related official statutory standards, contract documents and all relevant legislation; apply a methodical approach and keen eye for detail to identify, control and resolve issues that arise.
* Utilise proven Quality Management experience in a similar role and work with appropriate qualifications (BTEC or SQA national award or higher in Building/Construction or equivalent knowledge, aptitude and drive).
* Demonstrate experience in snagging and handover of projects, inspecting relevant projects, and auditing information prior to the commencement of works; possess thorough knowledge of the building process and the roles of different professions, and understand statutory regulations and mechanical and electrical installations.
Qualifications
* Proven relevant Quality Management experience in a similar role.
* BTEC or SQA national award or higher in Building/Construction (or equivalent knowledge, aptitude and drive to learn and deliver the service).
* Experience of snagging and handover of projects; background in inspecting projects and auditing information prior to works.
* Thorough knowledge of the building process, roles of different professions, statutory regulations, and mechanical/electrical installations.

Contract & Compensation
* Contract: Full-time, Permanent
* Salary: £52,583 per annum plus eligibility to earn up to 5% Performance Related Bonus
