Site Manager – Energy Storage Specialist

Overview:
My client is seeking a Site Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across multiple UK sites. This role involves hands-on site leadership, technical coordination, and contractor management to ensure optimal performance and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead site safety culture and ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations.
* Manage contractors and enforce safe systems of work.
* Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues (BMS, SCADA/DAS, HVAC, etc.).
* Execute service agreements and monitor KPIs for asset performance.
* Act as primary onsite contact for stakeholders and customers.
* Coordinate technical support, upgrades, and project plans for maintenance campaigns.
* Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience (5+ years in energy/power sector).
* Strong technical knowledge of HV/LV systems, inverters, and control systems (ideally BESS or grid-scale assets).
* Experience in site-based operations and contractor management.
* Proficiency with SCADA/DAS and data analysis tools.
* Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and permit-to-work processes.
* Experience with grid-scale BESS or renewable energy assets.
* Familiarity with OEM service agreements and remote monitoring platforms.
* Project management experience in industrial/energy contexts.
Certifications:
* IOSH Managing Safely (NEBOSH preferred), First Aid, Electrical Safety.
* Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
