Job Description
3173 is a privately owned UK firm of pensions experts with clients throughout the UK, serviced from offices in London, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds.
The 3173 Group of companies includes Mantle Services is a pensions ‘Software as a Service (SaaS)’ business with a difference. Our solutions range from Administration to Asset Liability Management, and much more.
Whilst conceived originally to develop solutions for employers in the Group, we have turned our focus to the external market and now number many blue-chip clients amongst our clients. We have designed our modern, contemporary solutions to deliver the outcomes schemes and advisers need now, without the baggage of legacy systems. Our unique approach to the provision of services has resulted in rapid growth over the last few years. Joining us as a Pensions Administrator will give the opportunity to work in an exciting fintech business that will provide challenging and interesting work to allow you to build a rewarding career.
We are hiring a Pensions Administration Consultant who wants the opportunity to carve out a successful role within an award-winning and growing organisation.
We are looking for candidates with a pensions administration background who are interested in a different challenge to the day to day or more traditional projects-based roles available in pension scheme administration. This role offers the opportunity for an experienced administrator to have input into how the software is set up and used by administration users. You should thrive on solving complex problems, be well organised and proactive, calm under pressure and can communicate effectively (written and verbal).
You will enjoy working in a challenging environment in which you can develop both personally and professionally. You will be a conscientious individual with exceptional attention to detail, with a passion for delivering a quality product to our clients. You will have the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally and work to demanding deadlines and targets.
Responsibilities & Criteria
As a Pensions Administration Consultant, you will manage and maintain the administration aspects of defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes for the Mantle Software. The role is varied but typically we would expect you to become involved in system benefit coding, calculation testing, drafting benefit specifications, system updates due to legislative changes and training new clients - to name a few!
In addition, you will work with the wider team to improve operational efficiency e.g., defining best practices for our administration users, driving automation, and system development. We want you to be a champion of change and provide opinions if you have an idea to create more efficiencies.
You will act as a designated point of contact for clients, typically supporting the end-to-end process of scheme installations on Mantle and also resolving administrative related queries from our clients thereafter. You will maintain and develop client relationships, conduct demonstrations of our software for existing and prospective clients, and assist with building out supporting materials for clients.
Key Criteria
* Broad pensions technical knowledge, with at least five years’ experience working in a Defined Benefit (including CARE) and Defined Contribution pension administration environment.
* You should have a good understanding of defined benefit pensions schemes and UK pensions legislation, regulation, and codes of practice.
* Experience across different administration businesses and pension administration platforms.
* Certified by Pension Management Institute in Certificate in Pensions Calculations, or APMI.
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to articulate and communicate current and relevant issues to relevant stakeholders.
* The ability to perform in a fast-moving environment providing excellent service to clients and third parties with a desire to succeed at accomplishing objectives.
* Experience with assisting with scheme implementations on an administration platform, which includes client interface and benefit setup, calculation testing and client communications.

Location: Flexible within commutable distance of our Belfast or Glasgow office.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with additional hours as and when required.
All roles are subject to a six-month probationary period and all prospective employees are required to complete an Access NI check.

3173 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
