The Senior Design Specialist will report to the Director of Design UK & Nordics and be responsible for managing and delivering capex renovation projects across the region, as well as leading design review and delivery of selected hotel development projects within the UK & Nordics sub-region.
Position Summary:
* Lead the development of small project capex renovation processes regionally.
* Manage design development and delivery of renovation projects across the region.
* Serve as a designer on small projects with limited scope.
* Provide FF+E suggestions, detailed design guidance, and architectural proposals at each stage for small capex projects.
* Lead design efforts for selected projects across Europe, including new builds and conversions, with support from the Director of Design.
* Prepare design narratives and material boards.
* Guide external consultants in Hilton brand standards and requirements.
* Communicate regularly with suppliers and the design team, and manage the FF+E library.
* Assist in enhancing design quality by aligning organizational goals and managing multiple projects.
* Support technical reviews, value engineering, schedule adherence, and resolve design issues.
* Oversee and lead design projects, ensuring brand compliance and quality standards.
* Coordinate with interior design consultants on space planning, materials, and design details.
Planning Activities:
* Assist in project planning, scope review, and design direction approval.
* Review layouts and design specifications, providing feedback and approvals.
* Ensure submittals meet technical standards and propose value engineering solutions.
Directing Activities:
* Communicate standards and review proposals for scope accuracy.
* Enhance Hilton’s design platform with creative leadership and visual tools.
* Assess detailed drawings, develop new hotel designs, and critique layouts to meet operational and commercial needs.
* Lead mock-up reviews and provide detailed feedback on design and construction standards.
* Review presentations and ensure brand narrative alignment.
* Provide detailed design guidance and work flexibly with consultants.
Controlling Activities:
* Oversee projects from inception to completion, with support from the Director of Design.
* Review and approve design documents, conduct site inspections, and monitor quality.
* Manage interior design projects independently, including finishes and FF+E selections.
* Prepare design briefs for landmark hotels, including layouts, images, and mood boards.
Organising Activities:
* Support the review and development of Hilton’s preferred designers list.
* Build relationships with external stakeholders to promote the design platform.
* Review FF+E and design standards, ensuring projects stay within budget.
* Submit quarterly reports and create presentations using relevant software.
What are we looking for?
