Senior Site Manager
Location: Manchester
The Opportunity
We are currently working with a leading North West Contractor who are seeking an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of a £30 million, 12-storey residential apartment scheme in Manchester.
This is a high-profile, city-centre development requiring a strong on-site leader with proven experience managing multi-storey residential projects, coordinating trades, and maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, quality, and programme control.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, taking full responsibility for day-to-day site operations through to completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Day-to-day management of site activities and workforce
* Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site logistics
* Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
* Implementing and maintaining health & safety standards and site compliance
* Managing quality control, inspections, and snagging processes
* Monitoring progress against the construction programme and reporting issues
* Ensuring compliance with building regulations, drawings, and specifications
* Maintaining site records, RAMS, permits, and site documentation
* Supporting commissioning, testing, and final handover activities
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on multi-storey residential projects (high-rise experience preferred)
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and logistics in urban environments
* Demonstrable experience managing subcontractors and direct labour
* Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations and site management procedures
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical information
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Relevant construction qualification (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid essential)
* NVQ Level 6 / HNC / HND / Degree in Construction or similar (desirable)
