About the Role We are seeking an experienced Site Manager (on a fixed term contract) to oversee construction works associated with the Ports Capital and Maintenance projects. Your primary responsibility will be managing a series of remedial works addressing construction defects on recent capital schemes, ensuring safe and efficient delivery to programme. This is a critical role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to health and safety compliance. This position is to start immediately with an anticipated completion of late 2027. Key Responsibilities * Plan, coordinate, and manage daily site operations in line with CDM Regulations and safe systems of work. * Review contractor health & safety documentation and technical submissions. * Oversee site logistics, security, and traffic management to minimise disruption to port operations. * Conduct formal and informal inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. * Maintain detailed site diaries and progress records. * Supervise subcontractors (up to 30 at any time) to ensure productivity and adherence to programme. * Act as NEC Supervisor where required. * Monitor progress, report KPIs, and escalate delays promptly. What We're Looking For Qualifications * SMSTS or NVQ in Construction Site Management or similar * HNC/HND in a construction-related discipline or equivalent experience. Experience * Proven track record in managing civil engineering projects in live operational environments * Familiarity as a 'Supervisor' under NEC3 contracts. * Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and environmental considerations. * Strong understanding of environmental requirements and considerations on civil engineering projects * Proficient in MS Office; excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. * Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
