Labourer / Driver
About the Role
We are recruiting a Labourer / Driver to join an in-house Housing Direct Works team, supporting trades operatives across responsive repairs, voids, and planned maintenance.
This is a hands-on role supporting two-man jobs, working at height, assisting with material deliveries, and helping prepare and clear void properties. The successful candidate must be physically fit and comfortable with manual duties.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting trades operatives on responsive and void repairs
* Assisting with two-man jobs and working at height (including ladder work)
* Delivering materials, plant, and equipment to site
* Clearing and cleaning void properties
* Undertaking lifting, moving, and general labouring duties
* Attending pre-arranged appointments and working flexibly to meet service needs
* Maintaining allocated vehicle, tools, and equipment
* Completing job tickets, timesheets, and relevant paperwork accurately
* Acting professionally and courteously when dealing with tenants and the public
* Following all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Physically fit and able to undertake lifting, carrying, and ladder work
* Experience in general labouring or maintenance environment
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication skills and a professional manner
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Understanding of Health & Safety in a maintenance environment
Desirable:
* Experience working within housing maintenance or building maintenance
* Knowledge of materials and plant procurement

* Contract: 5-month contract
* Hours: 37 hours per week
* Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour
