About Our Client
A market leading, specialist SME food importer/distributor with a strong family values driven culture and long standing commitment to our people. As we continue to grow we are seeking a hands-on, proactive HR Manager.
Job Description
3. Build strong relationships with line managers and employees to provide expert HR guidance and support, working through change and aligned with business objectives.
4. Define and agree HR strategic aims, aligned with business goals, and define annual HR KPIs working with leadership team. Holds budget responsibility
5. Own the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, reward, and offboarding
6. Assist with implementing and monitoring our performance management system, setting KPIs, coaching and promoting staff development initiatives.
7. Identify learning and development needs, coordinate and support all training and maintain training records
8. Collaborate on employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and communication strategies to cultivate a positive and inclusive culture.
9. Review, develop, and ensure consistent application of HR policies, aligning practices with current legislation and company goals.
10. Maintain accurate HR records and systems, policies and employee handbook.
The Successful Applicant
11. Proven experience across HR (3-4 years) in a generalist manager role
12. Strong understanding of HR best practice, with a pragmatic, people-first approach
13. Ability to work independently in a standalone HR function, within a small business
14. Strong relationship builder with employees at all levels, solutions focused
15. Organised, resilient, and comfortable balancing strategic and hands-on work
16. Educated to degree level plus a Level 5 in CIPD or actively working towards
