About the Role
As HR Manager, you will lead and deliver HR operations across the business, ensuring a professional, efficient, and positive workplace culture. This office-based role combines people management, compliance, and employee support, working closely with leadership to drive engagement and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
1. Serve as the first point of contact for all HR-related matters
2. Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance management, and offboarding
3. Maintain and update HR policies in line with UK employment law
4. Ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR, and internal policies
5. Coordinate health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and office policies
6. Advise managers on employee relations, absence, conduct, and performance issues
7. Manage sickness, absence tracking, and holiday records
8. Oversee training, development, and appraisal processes
9. Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
10. Administer employee benefits, pensions, and enrolment processes
11. Maintain accurate personnel records and HR systems
Skills & Experience
Essential
12. Proven experience in an HR Generalist or HR Management role
13. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
14. Excellent organisational and time-management skills
15. Confident communicator, able to handle sensitive matters discreetly
16. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
17. Familiarity with HRIS systems
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desirable
19. CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or working towards
20. Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology environment
21. Experience in an SME or growing organisation
