HR Manager (Generalist) – Hull / East Yorkshire Location: Hull area, with regular travel to other local sites Working pattern: Mainly on-site, 1 day WFH per week Salary: Up to £45,000 benefits Contract: Permanent, full-time The opportunity Newly created role due to business growth across multiple sites Broad, standalone HR position with real influence and autonomy Working closely with the Board and senior leadership to deliver people strategy Ideal for a proactive HR professional who enjoys owning the function end-to-end Great development opportunity, including funded CIPD progression What you’ll be doing Strategic HR leadership Partner with senior leaders to align HR strategy with commercial goals Use people data and metrics to inform decision making Support organisational design and workforce planning across sites Talent acquisition & onboarding Lead end-to-end recruitment across operational and technical roles Manage agency relationships and hiring manager partnerships Design and deliver structured onboarding programmes Employee engagement & culture Drive initiatives that improve engagement, wellbeing and retention Promote a positive, inclusive culture across multiple locations Manage the full employee lifecycle from start to finish Performance & development Oversee appraisals, goal setting and performance frameworks Coach managers on difficult conversations and development planning Coordinate statutory and professional training requirements ER, policy & compliance Provide expert ER advice on grievances, disciplinaries and conflict resolution Maintain HR policies, handbook and contractual documentation Ensure compliance with employment law and best practice About you You’ll suit this role if you are confident, hands-on and comfortable working across several sites in a male-dominated engineering environment.
