As a Track Delivery Manager at Story Contracting you will report to the Track Construction Manager. You will coordinate the operational delivery of projects, providing supervisory support to ensure works are constructed safely, to standard, and efficiently. You will have practical experience of Permanent Way track renewals and projects, supporting the lifecycle from site mobilisation through to implementation and handback.
This is a senior supervisory role heavily focused on site delivery, logistics, and safety compliance. You will not be "on the tools" but will act as the operational lead for site logistics and team supervision, working primarily on site to deliver new track install projects, renewals and enhancements.

The Ideal Candidate
* Strong experience in Permanent Way works, including S&C, plain line renewals and re‑railing.
* Good working knowledge of Network Rail standards and site safety procedures.
* Ability to manage site logistics, plant resources and complex site activities confidently.
* Skilled in planning, including possession planning, resource look‑ahead and translating programmes into shift‑level tasks.
* Experienced in creating daily site reports and supporting handback documentation.
* Proven ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and subcontractors effectively.
* Strong communicator, able to deliver clear safety briefings and engage site operatives.
* Demonstrable experience in developing teams and leading successful project delivery.
* Commercially aware, with disciplined site record‑keeping and understanding of cost impacts.
* Committed to quality, including ITP management and briefing WPPs/Risk Assessments.
* Holds SMSTS and PTS (mandatory) with excellent HSQE knowledge and safety leadership.
* Competent with IT systems, digital reporting tools and electronic document control.
* Extensive rail/track background with a full UK driving licence and flexibility for shift, night and weekend working.
* Proactive, organised and methodical, with a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
* Safety‑focused, confident in challenging unsafe practices when required.
