At Wyvern Academy, every success, smile, and moment of progress depends on a safe and well-cared-for environment. As our Handyman, you’ll be the quiet hero behind the scenes – the one who keeps the school ticking, fixes problems before they become worries, and creates a place where pupils and staff feel secure, comfortable, and ready to thrive. No two days here are the same. One moment you might be fixing, building, or maintaining; the next, preparing spaces for learning or supporting a community event. Look after our swimming pool facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance (training provided where needed). Work alongside contractors, colleagues, and managers to get jobs done safely and to a high standard. Step in during emergencies – leaks, weather issues, or unexpected challenges – with calm and practicality. Play your part in keeping everyone safe through strong Health & Safety awareness and care. Who we’re looking for: Reliable, practical, and proactive – someone who takes real pride in their work. Experienced in building maintenance, with hands-on skills across general repairs and upkeep. Calm, approachable, and able to work well with staff, pupils, and the wider community. Organised and adaptable, happy to tackle both routine tasks and unexpected challenges. Physically able to handle practical tasks and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
