You will be required to work 12.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, Monday – Friday. Working times to be discussed at interview.
Facilities Services (Catering) are seeking a Cook 1 (General Catering Assistant) to assist the Catering Manager in a rural school kitchen at Sandhead Primary School. The role involves general catering tasks associated with delivering school meals, including:
1. Light food preparation
2. Serving meals
3. Setting up and decanting the dining room
4. Setting up the service area
5. Cash handling as required
6. Dishwashing and general kitchen duties
7. Clearing down and cleaning kitchens and staff rest areas
8. Carrying out electronic paperwork
No prior experience is necessary, as full training will be provided, including Basic Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training.
This position is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before employment is confirmed.
Applicants previously resident outside the UK within the last 5 years will be required to provide a police record check from the relevant authorities in their country of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
