Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
* Setting and delivering the quality policy and objectives, preparing reports to support on agreed basis
* Leading the quality team ensuring it operates in line with company policy and procedures
* Co‑ordinating/leading relevant quality reviews on site
* Ensuring effective quality controls for all aspects of the manufacture of product from PO to dispatch
* Confirming that QMS conforms with relevant international and customer standards and is fit for purpose
* Interface with customers on quality requirements
* Interface with suppliers on quality requirements
* Lead quality performance reviews (business reviews, customer reviews)
* Proactively lead defect prevention / data driven quality projects and KPIs
* Act as a point of contact for all quality audits (regulatory, CB, customer)
* Provide reports detailing the cost of quality and preventive solutions using non‑conformance reporting as basis
* In conjunction with customers, suppliers and internal departments, systematically investigate all causes of rework and rejects, document root causes and ensure preventive measures and corrective actions are carried out timely
* As part of site management team, achieve the operational objectives of business and support quality development throughout the group
* Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining expected productivity levels
* Work safely in compliance with company health & safety policy, reporting and logging incidents
* Support, contribute and lead team to continuous improvement programs and lean manufacturing through quality KPI ownership and project execution
* Promote teamwork and circulation of experience within the workforce
* Responsible for leading the Quality Function and upkeep and promotion of all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the organisation
Position Requirements & Qualifications
* Relevant 3rd level qualification in Engineering/Quality
* Knowledge of machine tools and manufacturing techniques
* Relevant quality experience within a manufacturing environment / aerospace MRO
* Regulatory experience AS9100 / NADCAP or Part 145
* Experience with quality management systems
* Experience/working knowledge of lean manufacturing, RCCA, first article inspection (FAIR), visual management
* Proven experience of managing quality teams
