About the role
In this role, you will support the development activities for new Solar PV and Onshore Wind Farms across the UK and Ireland. You will oversee projects from land acquisition to preparing planning applications through to securing grid connections and ensuring a smooth transition to construction handover.
Responsibilities:
* Identify and assess suitable sites for Solar PV and Onshore Wind projects
* Conduct feasibility studies, including grid and environmental assessments, including initial yield assessments and design layouts
* Carry out constraints mapping exercises to identify early-stage Red Flags on the projects
* Liaise with internal experts to secure grid connections and manage agreements with DNOs and TOs.
* Negotiate and finalise land agreements with landowners.
* Help with the legal aspects of the project including securing Exclusivity, HOTs, Option Agreements, Leases and Easements
* Manage the preparation of planning applications
* Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities
* Manage the design and layout of the projects and work with the design team and construction teams to find a optimum layout.
* Support financial modelling and maintain project budgets.
* Ensure a smooth transition of projects to construction.
* Reporting to the Senior Management Team progress and setbacks on the portfolio

Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, related to the development of renewable energy projects.
* Commercially astute with a growth mindset and willingness to learn, with a good understanding of the drivers of project economics.
* Ability to manage multiple projects throughout both GB, Eire and Northern Ireland.
* Proven ability to negotiate land agreements and manage stakeholder relationships.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* Have your own car and driving license and be able to travel throughout the UK and Ireland.
* Knowledge of planning regimes, support mechanisms and regulation in the sector.
* Can manage ambiguity whilst remaining focused on goals and working toward them.
* Are communicative, collaborative, and confident.
* Flexible- have experience working in energy project development environments where the work scope can change.
