Quality Manager PyrometryLocation: BelfastContract: Permanent, Full-TimeDepartment: Quality & Technical ServicesReports to: Technical Director / Operations DirectorAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Quality Manager Pyrometry to provide technical leadership across our aerospace pyrometry and calibration services. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with AMS 2750 and major aerospace customer requirements while maintaining processes aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 principles, including measurement uncertainty, traceability, and method control.This is a senior role offering the opportunity to shape quality systems, support business growth, and drive continuous improvement within a growing aerospace services organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Compliance LeadershipLead all pyrometry activities including TUS, SAT, instrument calibration, and sensor control in accordance with AMS 2750.Ensure compliance with aerospace customer specifications including Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Boeing, Safran, and others.Review and approve pyrometry reports, calibration certificates, and compliance documentation.Provide technical guidance on furnace classification, corrective actions, and compliance requirements.Quality, Traceability & Measurement UncertaintyMaintain systems aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 principles.Develop and manage uncertainty budgets for calibration and pyrometry activities.Ensure traceability of all reference standards and measurement equipment.Support customer audits and technical reviews relating to quality and measurement systems.Customer & Audit SupportAct as the primary technical contact for customer quality queries and audits.Interpret customer specifications and ensure contractual compliance.Lead audit preparation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.Leadership & ImprovementMentor and support calibration technicians, survey engineers, and quality personnel.Deliver training on pyrometry, uncertainty, traceability, and aerospace compliance.Drive improvements in service quality, efficiency, and turnaround times.RequirementsEssentialDegree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Metrology, or a related discipline.Significant experience in pyrometry, calibration, or thermal processing within aerospace or other high-reliability industries.Strong knowledge of AMS 2750 and aerospace quality requirements.Experience with calibration documentation, technical reporting, and measurement uncertainty.Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 principles and audit support.DesirableExperience working across multiple customer sites.Knowledge of CQI-9, AMS 2769, and OEM-specific pyrometry standards.Experience supporting UKAS or similar technical assessments.Familiarity with furnace control systems, automated reporting tools, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma).BenefitsCompetitive salaryCompany vehicleFull company sick pay scheme38-hour working week with half-day finish every FridayPerformance-related bonusPension contributionAnnual leave plus public holidaysProfessional development and trainingExposure to major aerospace OEMs and prime contractorsSignificant autonomy and influence within a senior management roleCareer progression opportunities as the business growsWhy Join Us?This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pyrometry and quality professional to become a key technical leader within a growing aerospace services business, helping to drive quality excellence, future accreditation initiatives, and long-term growth.WHJS1_NI
