Head of People Operations Hackney, London | Fully On-Site Location: Hackney, London Salary: £65,000 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent The Role A senior, hands-on People Operations lead reporting to the Founder, owning the full employee lifecycle across a growing, fast-paced organisation. This role combines HR governance, employee relations, payroll leadership, people analytics, and reward design. You will stabilise and refine HR operations before contributing to wider strategic leadership discussions. Key Responsibilities * Own all HR policies, processes, and compliance (UK employment law) * Lead complex employee relations cases * Line manage and develop the HR Coordinator * Design and deliver manager training on HR best practice * Build and manage HR metrics and reporting (retention, absence, grievances, headcount) * Lead end-to-end payroll and annual pay review processes * Conduct salary benchmarking and advise on pay structures * Design and evolve benefits aligned to culture and budget The Ideal Candidate * Proven experience in a senior HR / People Operations role * Strong UK employment law knowledge * Extensive complex ER case management experience * Experience building or improving HR processes * Strong analytical and HR reporting skills * Experience supporting a scaling organisation * Confident, pragmatic, values-led leader with strong judgement * Comfortable operating in a fully onsite environment Interested?
