Job Title: Site Manager (Freelance, CIS) Location: Based in Yeovil with travel across the South West Contract: Freelance, CIS basis – Approx. 2 years’ work Sector: Civil Engineering / Principal Contractor – EA Framework Overview We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a principal contractor delivering works on the Environment Agency (EA) framework. The role will be site-based, primarily around Yeovil and the wider South West region, managing sections of works and site teams across a variety of civil engineering projects. This is a freelance CIS role with around two years of secured work, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work on long-term framework delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations across multiple sites within the framework. Lead and coordinate site teams, including subcontractors and direct labour. Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and within budget. Plan, monitor, and report progress against programme. Oversee quality control, environmental compliance, and health & safety standards. Liaise with the Project Manager, framework partners, and client representatives. Manage sections of works, ensuring smooth handovers and effective sequencing. Contribute to risk assessments, method statements, and permit processes. Resolve on-site challenges, ensuring minimum disruption to project delivery.Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager for a principal contractor, ideally on frameworks. Background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects (EA/environmental experience desirable). Strong knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental standards. Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold) and First Aid at Work. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South West. Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple work fronts.
