Civils Site Manager - Groundworks
Location: Barrow-in-Furness | Contract: Permanent | Start: ASAP | Project Value: £2.5m
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000
Civil Engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Civils Site Manager to deliver a £2.5m groundworks project in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a permanent position with an immediate start for the right candidate.
The Role
You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing site activities from start to completion
* Coordinating groundworks, drainage, and associated civils packages
* Managing subcontractors, plant, and direct labour
* Ensuring compliance with H&S, RAMS, and site procedures
* Liaising with clients, engineers, and internal teams
* Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior management
* Maintaining quality control and site documentation
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on civils / groundworks projects
* SMSTS (essential)
* First Aid at Work
* Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, and civils packages
* Ability to run projects independently
* Good communication and leadership skills
